Paranoia

Posted in security by wolfyrabbit on November 5, 2008

I think I am paranoid. I have just switched from Linux to OS X and find myself doing illogical things to protect my computer and information from attack. Some signs that you are paranoid are :

  • Tendency to not use any programs that did not ship with the Operating System
  • Setting software update check to “Daily”
  • Reading OS X security guidelines at 11:52 pm to see if Apple’s SSH is vulnerable.
  • Desiring Two-factor authentication to login to my mac
  • Determine that the hierarchy of dependencies to hack your network go back to a single email address  and thereafter reluctantly use your computer and view it as ‘compromised’

If you notice any of these symptoms please contact me immediately.
